Interim trust fundraising and bid review, then major donor strategy, over several contracts. Results recorded in January 2025.
The brief
Every Casualty Counts works across the globe with a very small team: two people. They delivered trust fundraising, their core income stream, alongside their other duties, and that had become increasingly difficult.
They needed support with larger, multi-year applications, and with strategies for approaching larger funders that do not accept unsolicited applications. They also wanted to understand their options for diversifying income, including major donor fundraising.
What we did
Over several contracts, our associates helped the team develop their case for support and their bid writing skills. We moved from writing bids to reviewing them, so the team could get the most from their budget and build their own skills.
More recently we helped them begin a major donor programme: support to attend a large networking event, a major donor strategy, and making sure their policies and infrastructure could support this work.
Results
A clearer understanding of project design, budget detail, cases for support and the need for a concise focus in applications and proposals.
A much stronger foundation of knowledge and resources for fundraising from trusts and foundations, and from other income streams.
A team that can now deliver more of its fundraising independently.
"We have a greater understanding of how trust fundraising works and can now see a way forward which will meet both our organisational and funders' needs."
