Bid review, application support and prospect research. Results recorded in December 2024.
The brief
Parenting Project is a family mental health and wellbeing charity. Its income generation had changed a great deal over five years. A large local authority contract ended in 2019, and a focus on trust fundraising protected its services until the end of 2022. As the funding landscape changed in 2023 and its fundraising team changed, it made the difficult decision to pause some services.
It needed to refresh its trust fundraising: prepare applications, learn techniques for larger bids and update its pipeline. It was clear from the start that it wanted to learn from an experienced fundraiser and work alongside them.
What we did
An associate fundraiser focused on a stage 1 National Lottery Community Fund bid, drafted a two-page template application and carried out agreed prospect research. She also completed a National Lottery Awards for All application, consulting the team regularly, and took them through the content of both bids so they could learn from them.
At the end of the contract she gave the team a summary of suggestions and guidance to keep.
Results
A stage 1 bid and an Awards for All application prepared with the team.
A template two-page application for future trust approaches, and written guidance to follow.
It was too early to report income when the results were recorded.
A team with more confidence in its own ability to fundraise.
"We certainly have increased confidence in our own ability to fundraise..."
