RASASC Guildford: interim trust fundraising that secured £588,333 in core funding

Six months of interim trust fundraising during a period of change. Results recorded in June 2023.

The brief

When its long-standing fundraising manager left, the Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Centre (RASASC) in Guildford needed urgent interim trust fundraising support while it recruited to the role.

The timing was hard. Two of its main core funders had imminent, significant deadlines, and other major changes were happening early in the year, including the arrival of a new chief executive.

What we did

For six months, our associate worked as RASASC's interim trust fundraiser.

The main core funder's application used a more formal online platform and needed a great deal of extra data. She completed it, along with a number of other large applications and reports to funders.

She also researched new trust prospects for the pipeline, wrote a full case for support for internal use, and brought the trust records on the charity's CRM up to date, so the new fundraising manager would start with current information. And she gave the incoming chief executive strategic support on how fundraising and finance could work together.

Results

Three major grant applications prepared. One had secured £588,333 in core funding when the results were recorded.

Reporting completed for three major funders, with processes in place to make future reports easier.

Trust records brought up to date, and the systems that needed improving identified, ready for the new fundraising manager.

"…works at a fast and efficient pace delivering what she has promised, on time and of the highest quality."
