Interim and outsourced trust fundraising
An experienced trust fundraiser working inside your team, a few days a month or to cover a gap while you recruit.
Money Tree Fundraising is a UK fundraising consultancy. Our interim and outsourced trust fundraising is led by Rachal Minchinton, our New Business Manager, supported by Stacey Teece, our Trust Fundraising Consultant, along with a small team of experienced associates.
When charities call us
"Our trust fundraiser has left, and two core funders' deadlines are next month."
"We're recruiting, and we can't let the pipeline go cold while we do."
"We have the funders and the projects, but nobody with the time to write."
"We need someone a few days a month, not a full-time post."
What interim trust fundraising involves
Your trust fundraiser works as part of your team, to your deadlines, and leaves the programme in better shape than they found it.

The first two weeks.
We read your pipeline, your recent applications and your funders' deadlines, and agree the priorities with you.
Applications.
Research, writing and submission, from small trusts to large and multi-year bids, in your voice and to each funder's guidelines.
Handover.
A case for support, templates, up-to-date records and a work plan, so your next fundraiser starts with everything in place.

Keeping funders close.
Reports, stewardship and the conversations that keep existing funders giving, as well as new approaches. More trusts now fund only charities they know, so this is half the job.
The pipeline.
A researched list of previous, current and new funders, kept up to date, with the next step for each.
What it costs
£441 a day plus VAT
The same rate for applications, research and stewardship.
Invoiced monthly in arrears
Nothing to pay upfront.
From one day a month to three days a week. We recommend at least three months, always with one month's notice, and we do not offer rolling contracts. Usually two weeks from agreeing to work together to starting. 10% off when interim work follows directly from one of our consultancy projects.

Questions about interim trust fundraising
-
£441 a day plus VAT, invoiced monthly in arrears. One day a month costs £441 plus VAT, and three days a week costs £1,323 plus VAT a week. We agree the days with you before we start.
-
Usually two weeks from agreeing to work together, for contracting and preparation. If a funder's deadline is close, tell us on the first call and we will tell you whether we can meet it.
-
It depends on how many applications and reports are due. We work from one day a month to three days a week. One day a month keeps a small programme moving, and covering a full-time post while you recruit takes more. We will suggest a number once we have seen your pipeline.
-
No, but we recommend at least three months, so there is time to get applications out and some decisions back. Every contract has one month's notice. We do not offer rolling contracts, so we agree the length of the contract in writing before we start.
-
We work remotely, using your systems and your email where that helps. On-site days can be arranged.
-
It is important to us that the relationship remains between the charity and the funder and that we do not get in the way. We will speak with funders when you cannot or when it is better that we do.
-
We hand over everything we have worked on: case for support, templates, up-to-date pipeline, a work plan, and we can overlap for a few weeks if that helps.
-
Yes, in the same way as a recruitment gap: agreed days each month, to a work plan we set with you.
-
No we will not, for lots of reasons, which we have detailed here.
