Bread and Water for Africa UK: a case for support and two tailored proposals

Interim capacity to build a case for support. Results recorded in April 2021.

The brief

Bread and Water for Africa UK is a small charity that works with local, grass-roots organisations in some of the world's poorest countries to fight poverty, relieve hunger and increase access to healthcare and education. It focuses on long-term projects rather than temporary relief.

It has only two staff in the UK. They had the skills and the information, but not the time to develop a case for support or proposals to individual funders across the projects they support.

What we did

We supported the charity to develop a full case for support and two tailored master proposals for one of its projects. Both are now assets the team can reuse as it moves forward with its fundraising.

Results

£8,000 secured from one of eight applications made while we were working with the charity, enough to restart its food programme in Burundi.

A full case for support and two master proposals, ready for the team to adapt for more funders.

"Without support from one of Money Tree Fundraising's Associates, we just wouldn't have been able to find the time to pull the case for support together. Now we have it and the two tailored proposals it's going to be easier for us to get more applications out the door to support the projects delivered by our partners."
