Racing Welfare: trust fundraising through a year of change

Trust fundraising and strategic advice over 2015 and 2016.

The brief

Racing Welfare was reviewing its fundraising options for the future. While it did, it was important to keep its relationships with a core group of loyal trusts and foundations strong.

What we did

Over twelve months we worked with the team in several ways: mentoring staff, providing trust fundraising expertise, and reviewing all of the charity's fundraising options before making recommendations for the future.

For nine months we delivered its trust fundraising directly, working an average of eight days a month.

Results

At least £220,000 secured in trust funding in that time.

Relationships with the charity's core trusts kept strong while its staff changed.

Our recommendations became a clear implementation plan to double Racing Welfare's voluntary income over the following three years.

"I was particularly keen to engage our core supporters through this process and one of the reasons we chose to work with the team is that they shared this goal."
